Mojitos come in many varieties and each with their own unique core flavour.

This is another fun twist on the Cuban classic which brings a little bit of a sour bite to it.

Apple Sourz is such a widely used spirit in bar today, especially as a simple shot. But here it is a big difference maker and takes what is already a drink famous for its light minty tastes and gives it a good strength boost.

Sour Apple and Mint aren't two flavours you would typically pair together, but in this case it works so well along with the other sweet and sour components of a traditional Mojito. Because Sourz does a variety of flavours such as Cherry, Passion Fruit and Blackberry, we can fully appreciate just how versatile this recipe is and you could definitely switch up the Sourz flavour for your own personal taste.

If you are already Mojito mad, then this is another one you will want to try and tick off your list. This is not just a Summer exclusive cocktail, but one that would fit in at any occasion.

Here is how it is made.

Sour Apple Mojito Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 oz. (40 ml) White Rum

  • 1 oz. (30 ml) Apple Sourz (Sour Apple Schnapps)

  • 1/2 oz. (15 ml) Lime Juice

  • 1/3 oz. (10 ml) Simple Syrup

  • 6-8 mint leaves

Garnish : Mint Leaves throughout the drink

Preparation

  1. Add Mint Leaves, Lime Juice and Simple Syrup to a glass and muddle gently.

  2. Add White Rum, Apple Sourz and Ice with Mint Leaves between ice layers.

  3. Top off with Soda and stir gently.

  4. Garnish with more Mint Leaves.
