Pomegrante is in our opinion a very well rounded fruit that can be used in so many way to make a good cocktail. It both a sweet and tart taste to it as well a fruity flavour that can match well with other juices and ingredients. But it is probably also a fruit you do not see used as much as it could be and does not appear on many drinks menus. We wanted to change that by mixing up a cocktail that would get the most out of this very underrated fruit.
Bourbon being the base of this drink makes for a smooth and rich flavour that pairs well with the tangy profile of fresh Pomegranate juice. The rest of the ingredient are you usual cocktail balancing ingredients, a bit of Lemon juice and Simple Syrup give the right amount of sweet and sour to make this recipe a true winner. Of course every Bourbon is different so depending on what you choose, you may get different results in the lighter flavour tones.
The red glow of this drink is just so eye catching and it is hard not to want to have at least one sip of it. We think Pomegranate is due a revolution in the world of Mixology and this cocktail may be where that revolution starts.
Here's how it is made.
