A new bold. Here is our review of Jack Daniels Blackberry Tennessee Whiskey.

Origin : Lynchburg, Virginia, USA
ABV : 35%
Flavour : Blackberry
In 2025, Jack Daniel's expanded its popular flavoured whiskey range with the release of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Blackberry. First launched in the United States in August 2025 before rolling out internationally later in the year, the new expression continues the brand’s trend of pairing its classic Tennessee whiskey with approachable fruit flavours.
The whiskey is built on the foundation of the distillery’s iconic Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey, produced in Lynchburg using a mash bill of 80% corn, 12% malted barley and 8% rye. As with other Jack Daniel’s expressions, the spirit undergoes the Lincoln County Process — charcoal mellowing through sugar maple charcoal — before aging in new charred American oak barrels.
Once matured, the whiskey is infused with blackberry flavour to create a sweeter, fruit-forward spirit bottled at 35% ABV (70 proof). It joins the brand’s lineup alongside Tennessee Honey, Tennessee Fire and Tennessee Apple, giving fans another easy-drinking option in the flavoured whiskey category.
Flavour Profile and Overall Character
Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Blackberry leans heavily into a sweet yet slightly tart berry profile while still retaining the familiar smoothness of the brand’s classic whiskey base.
On the nose, the first impression is ripe blackberry and dark berry jam, followed by subtle hints of vanilla and caramel from the oak-aged whiskey underneath.
The palate is soft and approachable, delivering juicy blackberry sweetness balanced by light citrusy tartness. Beneath the fruit flavours, you can still pick up gentle notes of toasted oak, vanilla and brown sugar that are typical of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee whiskey.
The finish is smooth and relatively light, with lingering berry sweetness and a mild whiskey warmth. Overall, it’s designed to be easy-drinking and accessible, rather than a complex sipping whiskey.
What does it go well with ?
Because of its sweet berry profile, Tennessee Blackberry works particularly well with simple mixers that allow the fruit notes to shine.
For an easy serve, it pairs beautifully with lemonade or ginger ale, both of which enhance the bright berry flavours while keeping the drink refreshing. Soda water can also work well if you prefer a lighter, less sweet drink.
In cocktails, the whiskey works brilliantly in fruity or citrus-forward recipes. A Blackberry Whiskey Sour is an obvious choice, where the berry notes complement fresh lemon juice and sugar. It can also be used in a twist on a Whiskey Smash, muddled with fresh mint and lemon for a vibrant summer drink.
Even simple highballs with iced tea, lemonade or citrus soda can create a refreshing party-friendly cocktail.
Is It Worth My Money?
One of the strengths of Tennessee Blackberry is its accessible price point. With a suggested retail price of around £26 in the UK (and similar pricing in many other markets), it sits comfortably within the affordable flavoured whiskey category.
For the price, it delivers exactly what it promises: a smooth, fruit-forward spirit that is easy to mix and enjoyable for casual drinking. While traditional whiskey enthusiasts may prefer more complex or higher-proof expressions, this bottle clearly targets those looking for a fun, approachable whiskey with a twist.
Final Thoughts
Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Blackberry is a natural addition to the brand’s growing lineup of flavoured whiskeys. By combining the smooth character of its classic Tennessee whiskey with sweet and tangy blackberry notes, the distillery has created a spirit that is versatile, approachable and easy to enjoy.
It may not be aimed at purists searching for deep complexity, but as a mixing whiskey or social drinking option, it succeeds remarkably well. Whether served over ice, mixed with lemonade, or used as the base for a fruity cocktail, Tennessee Blackberry offers a refreshing twist on a familiar classic.
For fans of flavoured whiskey, or anyone looking for something fun and easy to drink it’s certainly worth trying.
