Energy drink based cocktails are a modern concept but are becoming more and more popular. The acidity and array of flavours often pair really well with most core spirits and make for even more options in the way of mixers for mixed drinks. This recipe combines the citrusy elements of Monster Energy and core spirit Vodka as well as the fruity sweetness of Midori Melon Liqueur.

The Monster Energy of course add carbonation making this a fizzy and powerful cocktail in terms of how it sits on your pallet. And of course because this is an energy drink, it is sure to put an extra spring in your step to help carry the night on. Midori brings its sweet fruity kick to the mix and a nice green colour that matches the slightly lighter yellow colour of energy drink. The result is a solid and powerful cocktail that has a refreshing sip to it and would go down well at any setting.

Here is how it is made.

Electric Melon Ingredients

• 1 oz. (30 ml) Vodka

• 1 oz. (30 ml) Midori Melon Liqueur

• 1/3 oz. (10 ml) Lime Juice

• Monster Energy Drink (Original flavour) to top

Garnish : Lime Wheel

Preparation

---

1. Add all ingredients except the Monster Energy to a shaker with ice.

2. Shake well till chilled.

3. Pour and strain into a long glass over ice.

4. Top with Monster Energy.

5. Garnish with a Lime Wheel.
